If you are reading this, then you probably know me as a wedding photographer. And you wouldn’t be wrong, as this is what I spend most of my time and energy doing. In fact, it has been exactly two years since I decided to focus more intensively on building my wedding photography business, meaning that I would no longer take on some of the other type of work that I was doing before. No more family shoots, no more maternity, no more newborns.

While I deeply value family and absolutely adore children, I just felt that I was spreading myself too thinly, and ultimately compromising on other areas of my life as a result. It was a hard decision to make, but a good one. I’m feeling more focused, more passionate about what I do, more inspired, and I feel that my balance between work and play is just so much more healthy.

There was however this one thing that I wasn’t quite ready to give up on just yet. I call it the “portrait” section of my portfolio, which hides in a quiet little corner of my website. It’s not something I’ve actively promoted, but when I have time, I like to fit some portrait shoots in. It keeps me on my toes and pushes me out of my comfort zone. Over the winter months, I did quite a few of these sessions, with various ladies needing updated pictures for their websites, promotional material etc. And then of course, I always like to play a little!

I have selected a few of my favourites from some of these shoots below.

Just had to sneak in this one of Lindsey Boucher, who did Lindsay’s makeup. She is so incredibly good at what she does, and runs the amazing Makeup and delight.
