I totally loved this shoot, and there are many reasons for that.

Let’s start with the location. Cara had the idea to shoot around the Woodstock area. I’d never shot there before, but I love the vibe in Woodstock and knew it would make for a pretty cool location- which it did! How amazing is the graffiti? I’ll definitely be shooting there again!

Then there was the subject of my photographs, the lovely Cara. Cara is a wedding planner who I was privileged enough to recently work with. I was delighted that she asked me to take some updated portraits of her for her website. She is so naturally beautiful and easy to get on with and that made it such a joy to take these pictures! I also love all her tattoos and wanted to make sure those also get the exposure they deserve :)

The light, as it has been in Cape Town this whole month, was just phenomenal. After we took our Woodstock shots, we popped over to the district six to take a few pics with table mountain and the Cape Town city scape. I was oohing and aahing the whole time as the light was just doing it’s thing so beautifully. We are so lucky to live in this gorgeous city!

Here are a few of my favourites from this fun shoot :)
